Abstract

Layered LiFe1-xCoxO2 compounds have been studied by powder-neutron diffraction in the temperature range 1.5 100 K and at room temperature. The Bragg reflections of LiFe1-xCoxO2 can be indexed in the R-3m space group. At low temperatures, for x < 0.6 samples. an A-type AF structure is observed with a propagation vector k = [0 0 1/2] and a magnetic moment μ3b(Fe3- ) = 3.9 μB.
